Busy recording new tracks for the new album

5/5 Amazon review of ASO by Meghan THompson: "fascinating glimpse at what could be and what doesn't change. From the moment I opened the cover, I was hooked by Lindsey Mackie's dystopian descriptions of a post-apocalyptic Britain and the emotions that define us as human beings, no matter how our society is shaped. The setting is Britain, circa 2050. A series of terrorist attacks has caused massive environmental and biological degradation that has forced the restructuring of society for the purpose of maximizing resources and ensuring social order. Mackie's vision is all-too-easy to imagine and therefore creates a grip on the reader that begins on page one and leaves one wishing for more by the novel's end. The plot follows Rachel, an Angelina Jolie-like law-enforcement officer, as she investigates a series of murders that leads her to uncover an unimaginable plot against the citizens of the UK. Infused into this mystery/thriller is a touching and emotional look at the strained relations between husband and wife and the impossible-to-extinguish deep maternal bond a mother has with her child. The thrilling climax leaves the reader wishing there was a sequel to explain in even more detail what happens next! All in all, this is a fantastic read with a powerful message about our future."

ASO was reviewed by Keith Parkins of BookCrossing books who called ASO "a powerful first novel” and rated it as 10 stars. "Lindsey Mackie is not just a novelist and writer of short stories, she is also a talented musician. Her album ASO was released in a rather unusual manner. It accompanies her first novel ASO, a chilling account of the future. The tracks on ASO reflect themes in ASO. ASO is a mix of jazz, folk and rock. Powerful female vocals. Shades of Iain M Banks and Yevgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin and The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood."
A second official signing was held from 10 to 12 am on Saturday December 13th at the brilliant and lively local bookshop Gerrards Cross Books, Packhorse Road, Gerrards Cross.
